“Forms, lines, tints, reflections, sounds, all are softened, and although the dying time, it is also the color time, the time when faith in the steadfastness of Nature is surest… The seeds all have next summer in them, some of them thousands of summers.”

John Muir from The Unpublished Journals of John Muir, edited by Linnie Marsh Wolfe (1938)

Alison Cable, the LitSalon’s expert on Writing for Wellbeing, is offering Autumn, the latest in her series of seasonal workshops: Writing Through the Seasons.

Poets have long celebrated what humans can learn from nature’s impermanence. From winter’s retreat and reflection, to the hopes and blooms of spring, to the bursting brightness of summer, to autumn’s shifts and preparations . . .

In this series of writing for wellbeing workshops, we will look to the poetry of Autumn by contemporary poets (like William Carlos Williams and Mary Oliver) to inspire our own writing and reflection.  Writing through the seasons, we’ll celebrate change, spark creativity, and resist stagnancy in our own lives.

No previous writing experience necessary.  This workshop is about self-development rather than literary-development.
