Begin or deepen your writing practice in our ongoing Tuesday workshops, Writing for Wellbeing (4 weeks, but please use the ‘enquire before you buy’ button below if you would like to attend a single session).

Writing about food – growing, preparing, eating it – is an art that  threads its way through the work of poets including Pablo Neruda, Mary Oliver and William Carlos Williams. The preparation of food, its texture, scent, flavour and colour, offers the most elemental of stirrings for our senses. No wonder so many artists use the savouring of food to inspire!

This November we will focus on writing about food, from planting to harvest to table. We will feast on a smorgasbord of poems and writing exercises. It’s all about sustenance, gratitude, and the deliciousness of metaphor. You’ll get a taste of creative, expressive, and reflective writing approaches, from flow writing to poetry making, to life writing.

In this supportive, confidential space, you will have the opportunity to share your writing — though you are never obliged to do so — as well as reflect on the writing of others.

No formal experience or preparation is needed, just a willingness to give writing a go! Simply bring an appetite to share, reflect and experiment with words (and paper and pen).  Please note this workshop is about self-development rather than literary development.
