The Odyssey in Art

Homer’s epic poem inspired artists such as William Waterhouse, Robert S. Duncanson, Herbert Draper, J.M.W Turner and Adolf Hirémy-Hirschl. In this single-session study we will read selections from four of the most famous episodes –The Sirens, The Lotus Eaters, Circe and Polyphemus – and discuss the artworks that depict them. 

JOINING DETAILS:

• Single-session led by Sean Forester live on Zoom
• The recommended edition for this study is The Odyssey: A New Translation by Daniel Mendelsohn, but you are free to use any translation you like. 
• £50.00 for single 2.5 hour meeting, notes and resources will be supplied.
