Terms & Conditions
To join a study, please complete payment on the site. Please note that some facilitators offer a 20% discount for first-time participants (please contact the facilitator directly to enquire).
Normally within 48 hours of receipt of payment, the participant will receive acknowledgement of payment and welcome to the study. Opening notes and study details will follow shortly after registration.
If at any time the facilitator determines that a participant is detracting from or disrupting the study experience, the facilitator may ask the participant to leave the study. In this case fees for the outstanding sessions will be refunded.
Behaviour deemed to be detrimental or disruptive might include (but is not limited to) talking over others, being disrespectful to other learners, denigrating other participants, disregarding the structure for discussion set out by the facilitator, or using racist, homophobic, misogynist or other language that expresses intolerance of a person or group. Please be assured that this has never happened, but Salon facilitators reserve this right because the work of the group and the safety and wellbeing of individual participants is paramount in the Salon.
Following Covid-19 the majority of Salons are virtual. However, when ‘in-person’ Salons are held we ask participants to be respectful of the meeting space and to adhere to house rules.
Cancellation Policy
In the unlikely event that the facilitator needs to cancel a study, payment will be refunded in full.
If a participant is unable to attend a virtual or in-person study they have booked, any refund will be at the discretion of the facilitator and the London Literary Salon (usually based on the ability to re-sell the participant’s place). Refunds will be subject to a 20% administration fee deducted from the total.
If a travel study has to be cancelled for reasons beyond the facilitator’s control (for example weather, pandemic, force majeure), the majority of the payment will be refunded, minus the administrative cost of setting up and preparing the study (up to a maximum of 30%).
If a participant is unable to attend a travel study that they have committed to with full payment, the refund will be at the facilitator’s discretion, usually based on the ability to re-sell the participant’s place.
